Laughs Comedy Club is excited to offer beginner stand-up comedy classes designed to help you write\, polish\, and perform your very first set! \nOur Dynamic 5-Week Beginner’s Class\nJoin our creative\, fun\, and motivating 5-week beginner’s class\, focused on the essentials of writing and performing stand-up comedy. This course is perfect for new or aspiring comedians looking for expert guidance and a supportive environment. \n\nWhat you’ll learn: This comprehensive class dives deep into the art of stand-up. You’ll explore joke structure and writing techniques\, learning how to craft compelling premises\, punchlines\, and tags. We’ll focus on performance skills\, including stage presence\, mic technique\, and how to connect with your audience. You’ll develop your likability and embark on the exciting journey of finding your authentic comedic voice. Expect to build confidence on stage through consistent practice and supportive feedback. The class will guide you in writing and rehearsing a polished 5-minute stand-up set.\nPersonalized Coaching: On Week 3 of the class\, you’ll receive an invaluable in-person coaching session with Andrew Frank and constructive feedback from co-owner Angela Dennison\, providing direct insights to hone your craft.\nAdditional one scheduled zoom break out session (30 minutes) with Andrew.\nYour Graduation: The class culminates in a graduating showcase performance where you’ll present your honed 5-minute set. Andrew’s cerebral and imaginative style is rooted in his love for language\, philosophy\, sociology\, biology\, psychology\, anthropology\, and cosmology\, all on full display when he takes the stage. \nAndrew has studied Satire\, Screenwriting\, and Talk Show Writing at Second City in Chicago. He has also lectured on Comedy Writing and Performing at McKendree University and taught an aspiring comedians’ course in Munich\, Germany. \nHis accolades include: \n\nSemifinalist in the 40th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition\nWinner of the 2019 Laugh Off at Laughs Comedy Club-Seattle\nWinner of Go Bananas Comedy Club’s Funniest in Cincinnati 2016\nRunner-up of Trial by Laughter 2015\n\nAndrew has performed in numerous festivals\, including Laughing Devil Festival (NYC)\, Cape Fear Comedy Festival\, Cleveland Comedy Festival\, Vancouver Fringe Festival\, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival\, among many others. He was recently named one of the “Best Undiscovered Comedians in America” by Thrillist Magazine and has toured extensively in Europe. He didn’t miss a Thursday open mic after that for about a year. Within 2 years Cliff won Port City’s Top Comic\, Comedy Central’s UpNext Regionals\, Comedy Zone’s Almost Famous and landed himself on Sirius XM. In the years that followed\, Cash racked up an impressive list of comedy credits and life scars. The highs and lows ranged from a divorce to a number one comedy album\, from the death of his father to a Dry Bar Comedy special. \nDespite accolades like being a finalist for Standup NBC\, having two albums reach number one\, being on Laughs TV\, Rooftop Comedy and more\, Cliff was toiling away in the shadows of obscurity reluctant to take the traditional path of moving to New York or Los Angeles. Cash focused instead on honing his craft and building connections nationwide performing in nearly every state in the lower 48\, touring for months at a time\, living in a station wagon\, camping\, hiking and exploring between gigs. Many years he slept more nights under the stars than under a roof. He saw 45 of the nations 62 national parks and stumbled upon the passion of nature photography that he now sells as merch at his shows. Cliff lived in his old sprinter van for months at a time all over the U.S. and México. \nFinally Cliff gave in to the pressure of the social media path. He decided that 2025 would be the year he finally put his energy into his long neglected online presence. In less than 6 months\, he’s grown his YouTube following from 280 subscribers to nearly 250\,000 and the other apps have exploded in the same way. His first *real* comedy special THE LONG ROAD debuted to high praise from fans around the world and has been viewed nearly 50 million times across clips and platforms. \nCliff has always been politically outspoken and involved but in recent months\, his activism has taken on more of a full time role.
